Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My four year old has a white blood cell count of 20,000 and has vomiting. No sore throat and his ears look good. Also no diarrhea. He has little black flaky things in his vomit. He has consistently been vomiting for about 15 hours, but he seems to be acting ok, just more tired than usual.
Hi.WBC count of 20000 is on higher side. Also the child is having persistent vomiting this can be suggestive of acute gastroenteritis. I would suggest you to maintain adequate fluid balance with ORS and keep watch on urine output. Has the child consumed any outside eatables? If the vomiting remains persistent then you should visit your doctor as persistent vomiting will compromise oral intake and make the child weak and dehydrated.
