Deep Pain In The Hip, Diarrhea And Abdominal Pain. Need To Get Checked?

Hi there, for the past two days and nights I have been having sharp deep pain above my right hip below my right rib cage. It hurts worse when pressure is applied but the pain is always there. Thursday evening the pain started I had only one case of diarrhea that evening. The abdominal pain worsened that night and continued throughtout Friday causing so much uncomfort I took the day off work only seeming to get relief by laying still ina fetal position or sitting with knees up. Fridaynight I had alot of unpleasant smelling gas and the same abdominal pain. This morning the pain has decressed a little but the bowel movemen I had today was normally but was very very dark brown if not black and when I touched it with toilet paper part was tary and the rest fell apart like sand.. still experiencing abdominal pain but less sever than the prior two days.. this has never happend to me before should I wait this out or see a dr?

Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Tarry like stool is a very serious symptom and can indicate bleeding from peptic ulcer or stomach cancer. That is why you definitely should visit your doctor.
Your symptoms can be also caused by gallstones (pain in the upper right abdomen radiating to the back, nausea, vomiting, possible diarrhea), pancreas inflammation, bacterial infection of intestines. But bleeding should be ruled out at first.

I suggest you to visit your doctor, have blood work done, abdominal ultrasound and gastroscopy.

Hope this will help.
Regards.
