Diagnosed With Anal Fissure. Using Gylcerin Nitrate Cream And Ammoxicillin Antiboitics. Will It Clear Inflammation Of Prostate?

Hi Doctor, I have had rectal pain for over a week now, I am 37 and male and I have been to my GP where he has diagnosed an anal fissure. I am not convinced this is what it is, he has given me Gylcerin Nitrate cream and Ammoxicillin Antiboitics. If it is inflammation of the Prostrate will these antibiotics clear it up as well?

Amoxicillin can help with prostate inflammation however not necessarily. Much better antibiotic for prostate inflammation is Ciprofloxacine or Clindamicine for example.
The other thing is that there is no need to use antibiotic in case of anal fissure.
Fissure is a kind of wound in the rectum. Antibiotic wont heal it. Glycerine Nitrate cream is a very good choice. You should also have stool softeners and fiber rich diet, sitz baths with Oak Bark, wash your rectum after every stool.

There is a simple symptom which diversifies fissure from prostate inflammation. Fissure gives much pain when passing the stool. Prostate pain is not related with stool passing.
