Diagnosed With Gonorrhea, Groin Lump And Balanitis, Injection Paralyzed Leg For Few Minutes. STI?

Hi Dr,

I am a 23 year old black South African male. I am uncircumsized and have been diagnosed with gonorrhea before. Last month I went to see a doctor because I suspected that I had an STD again but she said I was clean. Last week I started having a groin lump and two days after that I had what appeared as balanitis. I went to see the doctor again. She gave me an injection that was so painful that it paralyzed my leg for about 20 minutes, 400 mg Cefixime and doxytet.

I have not had sex in about 2 months and my last HIV test came back negative, I did it a month ago. My next door neighbour who specializes in HIV/AIDS in a public hospital suspects that I have an STI. Could this be it?

Regards,
MID

Good Day! Did the treatment of cefixime and doxylet resolved your symptoms? If yes then it is treatment for urethritis which is the most common cause of STI then it is safe to assume that you have STI. Gonorrhea and non-gonorrheal urethritis usually responds well to treatment. Once treated it is usually goes away unless you had exposure again.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries at at: http://www.HealthcareMagic.com/doctors/dr-manuel-c-see-iv/66014
