Welcome to HCM!

Hello Fozia, I have read your question carefully and it says that there are episodes of dizziness & palpitations when you try to sleep but due to these you are not able to sleep, and this dizziness goes away when you are busy in something, there is associated pain in legs, toes and other body parts while dizziness and palpitations.

Though you are overweight and it will always help you if you reduce your weight but the problems you mentioned donot appear to be directly related to your weight. They are kind of related to stress, that is why they happen when you are free / not doing anything , e.g.,when you go to sleep .

it looks like there is some anxiety ( you have not mentioned on query, still I feel that it can be there ), which increases when you are free e.g.,going to sleep and you the develop dizziness and palpitation and it goes away when you are up and awake and working ( as you get distracted ).

There can be symptoms of palpitation associated with anxiety and it is very commonly found. One may also get some pain in various body parts along with it.

Even though the symptoms are not serious, had I been treating you I would definitely go for some tests( blood pressure, sugar levels, thyroid profile, liver and kidney functions test) to check various body parts.

It is less likely related to heart problem as in at case the symptoms should increase while working and reduce when you are taking rest... still you may get an ECG does and rule it out completely.

You will be helped by learning and practicing relaxation exercise(like, breathing exercises) which will reduce dizziness and palpitations ; start going for walks, this will be useful in reducing weight and make you feel much healthier!

I think that it would be wise to see a doctor, physician and discuss the problem. He may give you some meds for palpitation and dizziness for some time.

Thsi is not a very serious problem, so please donot worry.
Hope you get well soon
