Do I Need Cystoscopy Despite Taking Cipro To Cure Bleeding While Urinating?
Hi,
Im a 22 yearr old male. Recently I had pain and blood during urination I was perscribed cipro and the blood went away but mild pain continued. I had an ultrasound done and a ct scan on which both returned negative. My doctor then suggested a cystoscopy, the procedure was done and as expected it also returned negative. The first few days it was painful while urinating. now a week and a half later it only hurts at the tip while urinating. when I get an erection I can feel the pain run down through my urethra. Any idea if the cystoscopy damaged me?

Cystoscopy is a kind of trauma for your urethra for sure. It can also cause new infection. Injury caused by it is usually not dangerous and should get healed in few days. However infection needs to be diagnosed.
Your symptoms can be caused by not cured completely infection of urinary tract. There is a test which is missing in your diagnostics process. This test is called urine culture and swab test of penis tip. This tests will allow to determine which bacteria is causing the infection an which antibiotic is the best.
In a meanwhile please increase mineral water intake and start cranberries supplementation.
