Does Provachol Increase Total Cholesterol Level? Any Side Effects?
RE adverse effects of Stains.....Male age 78 . taking 80 mgm Provachol. Recent chol esterol lab result,,
fasting, 163. LDL 106, HDL 35. How is it known if the Provacol contributes to the 163 total chol ... if it would be much higher if Provacho l was decreased ?? Obviously by trying it ? also while the total is good, the need to
increase the HDL and lower the LDL(?) seems obvious. How is that best done?? Allso what are the typical
side effect of Provachol??

The maximum dose of Porvachol ( pravastatin ) is 40 mg daily .
Since you are taking 80 mg , in my opinion this is very high dose .
Your total cholesterol is 163 mg /dl ( normal) L D L & H D L are also normal.
If there is no any other disease then , you should not take provachol.
Side effects are as ,
Nausea, vomiting indigestion,
headache,
insomnia,
rash,
fatigue,
dizziness,alopecia,
renal failure,
hepatitis,
hynaecomastia.
In my opinion diet is alone , good for you fat free food .
TENSION & STRESS FREE LIFE IS GOOD FOR YOU.
