Does A Steroid Shot Affect The Thyroid And Cause Weight Gain Along With Fatigue?

Hello I have recently had steroid injection into my shoulder for Osteoarthritis , I have underractive Thyroid that I take tablets daily for I have noticed a big change in my weight and fatigue levels, could the injection have altered my Thyroid level?

Steroid injection can cause slight elevation of thyroid hormones. This is not a universal phenomenon and seen in only few individuals. This is because thyroid hormones and steroids have structural similarities at the receptor level. You can do a repeat thyroid function test and can modify your thyroid drugs.
