I suffer from epilepsy and have siezures every week. I have been taking medications to prevent seizures, such as kepra, however, I am still having regular seizures.. I do have a terrible diet too. I crave coca cola and drink about six 12 ounce cans per day. My diet consists of mostly frozen food and fried foods. Are there adverse effects from my diet that can effect my bout with epilepsy?
I read your question and I understand your concern. There are many factors which could affect seizures and one must pay attention to them.
Eating a lot of frozen and fried foods is not healthy in general, but it does not carry any special risk concerning epileptic seizures. On the other hand coca-cola contains caffeine which is stimulant which could trigger seizures. Considering you reporting to be taking excessive amounts it could be relevant. So at least a reduction in coca-cola consumption is recommended. It is not healthy even regarding other effects apart from epilepsy, has been shown to increase risk of diabetes and metabolic syndrome.
I hope to have been of help.
