Does Improper Ergonomics Cause Pain Behind The Lower Head?

For 4-5 day s I ve experienced random pain in the lower back of head, specifically the left side, above my neckline. Lots of work stress and long hours sitting in front of computer. No neck or shoulder pain. Could this be due to improper ergonomics? Muscular/skeletal above the neck? If it continues I ll make an appt with my primary MD. Was tempted to visit ER last night, but took Advil and pain subsided. I m female, 56. Thanks for any advise you can lend.

Hello,

It is due to improper positioning and strain. As first-line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult a physiotherapist and get evaluated. He will explain you exercises and posturing techniques.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
