Does Long Period Indicate Menopause?

I think im starting menopause, 13 days of my period. heavy. I went 2 months without a period then got it and it hasn't stopped today will be 13 days. No cramping. I was in a bad mood before my period. Im gaining weight.

Hello and welcome,

I understand your issue. Hormonal imbalances are common at your age. They tend to cause irregular and prolonged bleeding. If the bleeding was for 13 days and was heavy, it is better to get an ultrasound and an endometrial biopsy to look for other causes like fibroids, hormonal issues and endometrial hyperplasia. This can be done after consulting a doctor and getting an examination.
