Does Painless Vaccination Compromise With The Immunity Developed Compared With The Traditional Method?
Hello Dr, I am Shan, and am curious to know how painless vaccination ( am not referring to the patch mechanism of drug delivery) differs from the traditional one, especially for infants, in terms of vaccination and ingredients of the vaccine . Does it compromise with the immunity developed compared with the traditional method? since infants vaccinated do not acquire fever . Thanks in advance. Shan
Hi ,
Thank you for your query.
I hope you are talking about the "painless" injectable vaccinations like DPT.
There is absolutely no compromise in immunogenicity or efficacy in these two kinds of vaccination.
The only difference being in the decreased incidence of pain and fever,
You cab safely take the painless ones.
If you have any further queries you are free to consult me.Hope this answers your query.Wishing your child a speedy recovery.Have a nice day.
Hello Shan
In infancy painless vaccination term is used for triple vaccine for diphtheria, pertussis and tetanus. Painless and painful vaccination depends on pertussis component whether it is cellular or acellular.
Acellular form has been developed to decrease the various side effects of cellular component.
There are various studies regarding the comparison of efficacy of cellular and acellular form. This shows that this acellular( painless) vaccination is equally or more efficacious than the cellular form and also has much less side effects.
