Absence seizures are more subtle described as "blanking out", "staring" or having "lapses of awareness". And there is abnormal brain activity when the seizures are going on. This abnormal brain activity called epilepsy can only treated with anti epileptic medications. Alcohol has no role in suppressing Absence seizures.
