Hi!
I had gone through your query and understand your concerns.
Lortab contains a combination of
acetaminophen and
hydrocodone.
Both medicines are pain killers.
Hydrocodone is an
opioid pain medication. An opioid is sometimes called a
narcotic. Opioid dependence can develop with ongoing administration, leading to a withdrawal syndrome with abrupt discontinuation.
Acetaminophen is a less potent pain reliever that increases the effects of hydrocodone.
Lortab is used to relieve moderate to
severe pain.
Lortab doesn't damage your heart.Infrequent side effects of Lortab are slowing or fasting your heartbeat. These are the only effects that Lortab can have over your heart.
You have to be very careful when you are taking Lortab(due to it's opioid component).
Do not take more Lortab than is recommended. An overdose of acetaminophen can damage your liver or cause death.
-This medication may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert.
-Avoid drinking alcohol. It may increase your risk of
liver damage while taking acetaminophen.(You must stop drinking wine while you are taking Lotab)
-This medicine may be habit forming causing physical and psychological dependence.Do not stop using this medicine suddenly after long-term use, or you could have unpleasant
withdrawal symptoms.
Ask your doctor how to avoid withdrawal symptoms when you stop using acetaminophen and hydrocodone.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions please do not hesitate in writing to us.I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
