Done Surgery For Interstem Trial. Yellow Fluid Discharge. Safe To Wait?
I have recently under gone surgery to do a trial with an inter stem trial. It has been approximately a week and a half. I saw the dr. And agreed to schedule surgery of the implanting of the inter stem. The dr. Never looked under the dressing, even though I told him I sweat a lot and have had to add tape to the bandaging he did in the surgery. I called a couple days after the visit to request a yeast infection medication.then the next day I called to tell the dr. Tha I had a lot of clear to yellow fluid that soaked through my pants . They seemed unconcerned and told me I had surgery scheduled for Tuesday 6 days away.i had the school nurse reward the chord protruding out of my buttucks. That night I caught the chord on a dresser handle. It ripped the lead wire out of my spine and pulled about 8 inches of lead wire out of my body. Again they said it was ok since I have surgery scheduled for Tuesday. Tonight I have been extremely sensitive and sore. I removed the bandage and notice pus on the lead wire and clear fluid coming out of that hole. My cut near the lead wire is red ,warm, and hard under the skin along with the incision at my tailbone it is swollen and tender, red and warm. Am I safe to wait until Tuesday morning? Or should I call the dr s service? Email address: YYYY@YYYY thank you for helping me.
It looks like the area where the soakage is present is infected and it will require regular dressings. You might also need to be put on oral antibiotics like Amox with clavulanic acid. Please get it tested immediately
I hope I was of help
