Experiencing Pain At The Tail Bone End Due To An Injury . Suggest Treatments .

Hi. I fell and landed square on my bottom. Seemed like right on the tailbone. The weird thing is that feels fine but my upper body hurts. It wasn't a hard fall but it did knock the wind out of me for a little bit. Should I be worried about my back/sternum or will this go away with rest?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Since sitting on the affected area may aggravate the condition, a cushion with a cutout at the back under the coccyx is recommended. If there is tailbone pain with bowel movements, then stool softeners and increased fiber in the diet may help. if the pain is caused by a malignment of the coccyx, manipulation by a chiropractor, osteopathic physician (D.O.) or physical therapist can offer relief. please do the investigation like xrays and mri if required of sacrum and consult orthopaedican if not improved.
