Fell From The Deck, Have Large Bruise On The Buttock. It Is Growing, Purple & Sore. Cure For Symptoms?
Hi, I fell from my deck and landed on the bottom stair (approx 1.5m fall). This happened 36 hours ago. I have a large bruise on my left buttock where I landed that continues to grow, it is now approx 15cm wide and 10cm long. It is very purple/ red and quite sore. I have a facet block in my lower spine presently and do not feel any pain other than from the bruised area. I think I suffered a bit of shock from the fall and still feel a bit queazy. I have never had a fall like this, or had bruising like this but dont know if I should be worried?
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The large bruise that is turning purple suggests that the internal bleeding due to the fall happened almost two days ago. You need to ice the area, take mild pain killers and have rest for relief. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
