Got Bruise After A Fall. Should I Go To Emergency Department?

Monday night my 9 year old daughter slipped and fell in the bath tub. She didn t cry, just said it hurt a little if I touched where the red spots where (above her left breast and below it). Tuesday she said she was fine but minor bruises were starting to appear, again it only hurt if I touched the areas bruised. She did her martial arts class Tuesday night with no problems including picking up and flipping her oponent over her shoulder. My mom (her grandmother) noticed the bruises when she was changing out of her uniform and wants her to get them checked and x-rays done. I talked to my daughter and asked her to take deep breaths and wiggle her torso around and pick her arms up and she said she had no pain unless she touched/poked where the visable bruises are. We called her pediatrician today (at my mother s request) and they are booked but I am supposed to hear back from a triage nurse. That was about 4 hours ago and I still havent heard back. Should I take her to an urgent care toget checked or should she be ok?? My mom is worried because my daughter hates the doctor s office and thinks she may be faking it so she doesnt have to go. (she thinks she has to get a shot every time she goes)

Hello,
Your history of symptoms and the way they have evolved gives a impression that everything is all right.
Bruises can cause little pain, when pressed but otherwise, not be worried about.
As far as bony injuries are concerned,it looks highly improbable ,since your daughter could do martial arts.It is not possible for a person to do martial arts or any vigorous physical exercises with fracture rib or ribs.
I don't think there is any need to go to doctor but if it is a question of anxiety for your family people, there is absolutely no harm in going to the doctor and getting an x-ray done,if he advises.
Thanks
