Got Staples To Close The Laceration Due To Post Hitting The Head. CT Says Right Basal Ganglia Cyst. Advice ?

My 23 year old nephew had an accident earlier today while working on a fence. A post hit his head and he had to get staples to close the laceration. They did a CT scan and the impression says: Right Basal Ganglia Cyst vs. Old Lacunar Infarct. They sent him home and said to follow up with his physician. Does that seem like the right advice?

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

CT Scan findings are not related to present trauma.
Findings are benign and it doesn't require any medication.
You didn't mentioned about size of cyst and causes for lacunar infarct in young patient should be investigated.
You better consult neurologist.
He has to take medicines only for lacerated wound.

Take Care
