Had A Medical Abortion. Have Bleeding. Did Ultrasound. Showed Collection Of Fluid. Prescribed Trenxamic Acid. Treatment?

hi doctor, i had a medical abortion two weeks ago which was 7weeks far along.but upto now i have been bleeding though the ultrasound showed that every thing is ok except for the endometrial cavity which showed collection of fluid. i went to the hospital and was prescribed with trenxamic acid, my question is will this medicine stop bleeding? please help me understand this because am really worried.

Hi dear user, thanks for your query. Fluid in endometrial cavity on USG can be seen after abortion and delivery. This is a normal finding. If there are no products of conception in endometrial cavity, no need to worry. Tranexemic acid should help to control such bleeding.If you are not having any hypertension, heart problem, seizure problem, thromboembolic problems and allergies to ergot alkaloids, then I will advise tab. methergine 0.2 mg thrice daily for three days. This can help in removing very small bits of products which would have not been visible even on ultrasound.
