Had Craniotomy After Accident, Had Subdural Bleed. Initially Diagnosed Subarachnoid Bleed Other Side. Cycling Again?

hi,
I'm 3 weeks post op from a craniotomy due to a cycling accident where another cyclist clipped me and sent me into a telephone pole. The cranio was due to a subdural bleed picked up on the right side 4 weeks post the accident. Initlally I was diagnosed with an subarachnoid bleed on the Left side amongst other injuries. When do you feel it would be safe to commence cycling and running again?

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

It is good to note that you are recovering well after the accident and after having had surgery for evacuation of subdural hematoma on the right side.

After craniotomy, one takes about 2-3 weeks to recover.

In addition, you also had a subarachnoid bleed on the left side. I suggest you have a CT scan of brain done after another week. If that is normal (all bleeding has resolved), then, you should be able to start cycling and running.

Please get back if you require any additional information.

Best wishes,
