Had Dry, Bad Cough And Flu. Broken Rib Or Pulled Muscle?
I had a dry bad cough over the course of the flu . Now it seems I ve either broken a rib or pulled muscles to the extent of extreme pain. I m in Thailand so I can get tramadol over the counter, but i TAKE TWO (with para)and I m still in severe pain. What do I do. If I need to clear my throat? Oh my God. I m a smoker also

Thanks for posting your query.
You are most likely suffering from Acute flu fever with involvement of lower respiratory tract or involvement of chest muscles.
Are you getting difficulty in breathing/ cough with productive sputum/ high grade fever?
You should consult with physician and you should go for chest x ray on urgent basis.
You should also go for complete blood count, blood culture and sensitivity, throat swab for strep.
Presence of pneumonitis may require admission in hospital with intravenous injectable.
If muscle injury is present (absence of pneumonitic patch) suggest use of muscle relaxants.
You should also take anti-pyretics, antibiotics and decongestants.
You should also perform gargles three times in day with use of lukewarm water and a pinch of salt.
