Had Fever, Black Stool, Extreme Fatigue And Loss Of Appetite. Diagnosed With Urine Infection. Suggest
Hello, I am looking for a second opinion. I was diagnosed with a urine infection because my pus cells are 25 - 30 HPF and my epithelial cells are 10 - 15 HPF but I have had no pain during urination. Other symptoms I have had are fever 102, black stool, extreme fatigue, loss of appetite. My blood test was normal except my lymphocyte is 36% and it says the normal range is 20 - 30%
Hello Thanks for your query.Based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have acute UTI which is confirmed by presence of 25-30 pus cells in urine on microscopic findings. Please get your urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and the antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.
Start taking broad spectrum antibiotic along with urinary antiseptics like Nitrofurantoin twice daily .Switch on to appropriate antibiotics once you get the culture report.
Get the prescription of medicines from your family physician.
Ensure to consume more water to keep your urine dilute.
This should get resolved in a week.
