Had Hit On My Rear. Sore & Pain On Sitting. Advice?
I have a 34 ft sailing boat and removed its fibre glass stairwell to work on its engine. While moving around the boat I crouched down quickly and hit my rear very hard on the corner of this stairwell and it really hurt at the time. That was over 6 months ago and I now get of alot of pain when I sit down. I went to the cinema this evening and it was sore to sit which worries me. I feel if I go to my doctor he will just fob me off and not help me. I would like to sort this out because its starting to effect what I do so I'd be grateful of any help or advice such as should I ask for an x ray etc.
Hi, based on the information provided, you could be suffering with "coccydynia" (pain originating from the tail bone) which typically hurts when you sit on hard surfaces. I suggest you to place a cushion beneath your buttocks while you sit & also leaning forward position while sitting which will take off your pain. I also suggest you to get Xray of sacrum & consult an orthopedic surgeon for advise. Hope this helps
