Have An Umbilical Hernia, Want To Get It Repaired, Excess Skin Around This Area. Will It Effect ?
I have an umbilical hernia, my second [first 2008] and would like to both get it repaired and have the excess skin which developed around the area effected removed surgically. Can this be done in the same operation? Would a general or a plastric surgeon do both? I am on Medicare: would the excess skin removal be covered? Even if not, would it be possible to have both procedures don in one operation? Thank you.
Hello, Thank you for consulting HCM.You can have the skin removal along with the hernial repair as there will less complications after your surgery if you are in a good health and also an added bonus. You can consult a board certified plastic surgeon for this to know about more details. In my opinion you can proceed with your doctor who adviced you that.Thank you.
