Have Chest Pain Which During Deep Breath. X Ray Done. Took Morphine Which Reduced The Pain. What To Do?

I have a sharp pain on the right side of my chest and worsens when I breathe deep. Also worsens if I lay on my left side. It started with some pain on Monday ,a little worse Tuesday and excruciating on Wednesday. It was so painful it woke me up from a deep sleep Wed morning. I went to the ER but nothing was found on the X-ray and morphine only lessened the pain but didn't take it away. Any thoughts.

HI,
Your symptomatology suggests underlying pleural infection or musculoskeletal pain. What I feel is you must go for a chest CT scan to have an idea of lung and pleural pathologies especially pulmonary embolism as well as gross musculoskeletal abnormality.
You must go for ECG to rule out cardiac anginal pain which may occur right sided sometimes.
In the mean time continue with morphine.....

Best wishes
