Have Diabetes And Polyuria. Done Urine Test. Prognosis And Treatment?
My father has been with diabetes for 45 years and now his 90 yrs old. His HBA1C is 6.3, Urea is 112.8mg/dl, eGFR is 7.8, creatine is 6.7mg/dl, calcium is 8.7 mg/dl, BUN 53mg/dl, potassium is 4.4 mmol/l, Urine microalbumin is 20. He also has polyuria as well. His general condition is not bad. Appetite is good. and BP is ususally 100/60 . Hb is 9.3. How about his prognosis and treatment for him? Thanks in advance for your time and kind suggestions.

Your father is having diabetic Nephropathy and as such he has to be put on dialysis as there is no medicine which can reduce his creatine,urea and potassium.
Although he is normal at the moment but this is temporary .
However dialysis is just a temporary treatment,as renal transplant is the final answer.
You must consult a nephrologist and seek the management plan as the treatment will depend upon his physical condition.
Without the renal transplant,prognosis is not good.
