Have Hair Loss, Frizzy Hair. Weight Gain, Hot Flashes After Taking DHEA. Help

Hi, I've been on Bio-Identical (pill form) since 2000....my recent blood work showed I was not absorbing estrogen but was absorbing Testost.....I was on 2.5 mg/1 mg Estrogen being the first one...so I went off and got on Minivelle patch (0.5) along w/50 mg DHEA and after about 3 wks, having horrific side effects....I gained 9 lbs, hot flashes 24/7 and have lost a considerable amount of hair....I had blood work done again and Saw dr ystdy and she was in shock when I walked in w/my hair in a baggie....and as of ystdy I had gained 7 lbs but gained 2 lbs overnight.....anyway, lots to consider here.....basically, going off patch and going back on Bi-Est but upping it to 3 mg...DHEA will be cut in half to 25 mg.....I don't even care about the weight although I am normally thin but it's my hair I am concerned about.....luckily, I have a lot of healthy hair but I have a lot less now and it's all broken....I look like I put my finger into an electrical socket....LOL I realize everyone is different but what is your take on all this.....Thanks for your time......Vicky

Hello.The symptoms that you have are the result of decreased levels of estrogen (causing hot flashes) and increased levels of androgens (DHEA is an androgen which causes hair loss ).Drugs that combines estrogen + progesterone are the most commonly used drug for this condition.
Go to your doctor to assess about medication change and for prescription.
