Have Pain And Swelling In The Finger. Had A Hit Earlier. Had A X-ray, Normal. What It Could Be?

I had cut my hand on January 1st with a window and now I have a hard bump on the side of and to the rear of my middle finger, it is swollen and hurts to touch. They took x rays after the cut and saw nothing wrong. But the bruising on my knuckle never went away and now with this bump its getting hard to move my fingers again. Do you have any ideas of what it coud be

Hello,
Thanks for writing.
You have said that there was injury to your hand middle finger 6 months back and X ray of the region was normal. Now you feel that there is hard bump and the bruising on the knuclke persists.
I feel there was some soft tissue injury to your finger which went unnoticed.
You never know, tendon could have been avulsed.
I suggest you consult an orthopedic surgeon and take his opinion. He may ask for a new X ray if required.
Hope this helps.
