Have Regular Periods. Now Have Light Brown Bleeding. Frequent Urination, Cramps, Spotting. Suggestions?

Hi, About four weeks ago I had a regular period. Then a week after that I had light brown bleeding for about a day and a half. Then I had light cramping after that. I've had frequent urination for about two months now. A few days ago I was suppose to start my period and I was late but my periods are never usually on time. Then I had horrible cramping I started what seemed like my period but I only bleed for a day, I didn't even bleed during the night and I usually bleed very heavy during the night. It was red but very light and a small mucus ball looking thing came out. I usually have really heavy periods with bad cramping that last anywhere from 5-7 days where I only spotted and bleed lightly for a day. Help please?

Hi,
Thanks for the query.

The spotting and cramping you had in the middle of the month can be due to hormonal fluctuation at the time of ovulation.
Refer:http://srsree.blogspot.in/2012/08/mittelschmerz.html
Menstrual flow can undergo alterations due to many causes. If you had unprotected intercourse around the time of ovulation, there is possibility of pregnancy.
So once go for pregnancy test.
If the test comes negative, the other causes of scanty flow like PCOD, thyroid problems, anemia etc. should be rule out.

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

frequent urination could be due to UTI, or increased urine output,
get urine test done, blood sugar test done.

Change in your cycle could be due to hormonal variation, need not have to worry.
Get PAP smear done.
If you are sexually active better to get UPT done.
Consult your doctor for examination and management.
Hope I answered your question. Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries.
Wish you good health. Take
care.

Dr. Vidya
