Have Sore Throat Which Started With Cough, Congestion And Irritated Eye
Hi, My name is June. I've been suffering from a bad sore throat for the past two weeks. It first started with a cough, congestion and then led to an irritated eye. My strep test came back negative as well as tests for other bacterias. I was feeling better this weekend, but now my throat hurts horribly. Help - it's been almost two weeks - and I haven't gotten any relief. My throat is red and inflamed and it's hard to swallow. Ipubrofen dulls the pain and I was feeling better this weekend, but it started to hurt horribly again as soon as I went back to work on Monday. What could the problem be? Any remedies? I'd just like the pain to go away. I can barely swallow.
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum. It appears that you have the sore throat, secondary to the allergic rhinitis. You may need to have culture and sensitivity of the throat swab, and treatment for allergyand cauterization with silver nitrate. I advise you to consult an E.N.T. surgeon fo diagnosis and treatment. I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms erythromycin, phenylephrine hydrochloride, levocitrizine, and advise to gargle with luke warm salt water. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
