Heavy Bleeding, Extreme Stomachache, Ultrasound Shows Enlarged Uterus. Suggestion ?
Hello doctor, my mother is 48 yrs old. Her ultrasound report showed uterus enlarged showing hetrogenous echotexture. Small hypoechoeic lesions of size 3_4mm interpersed in myometrium.endometrium thickness is 6mm. She is having alot of bleeding during period and extreme stomache. Please suggest, I am worried. Thanks, Ravneet
Enlarged uterus and heterogeneous echo texture with small hypo echoic lesions indicates towards adenomyosis. Excessive bleeding and stomach ache are the features of adenomyosis. Adenomyosis is due to entrapment of glandular tissues within the myometrium. Treatment of adenomyosis are both medical and surgical. First medical methods should be tried and surgery should be last resort. You should consult doctor with the reports. Get well soon.
