History Of Fibroids, Stroke, Hysterectomy Cut, C-section Done. Will Microscopic Surgery To Vaginal Hysterectomy Bleed?
yes, thank you. I am a very active 65 yr old.Just retired from 20 years of being a realtor. Had a stroke 2 yrs. ago,and was treated with TPA,which reversed all of my symptoms. Have a history of fibroids; Several yrs ago had a D&C which solved all my physical problems, until four yrs ago-was told I would need a full hysterectomy-cut from beneath my belly button on down (following my precious C-section scar). I asked for alternatives, as to microscopic surgery to vaginal hysterectomy. was told at my age,I would bleed too much with the vaginal hyst. Is this true?
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The bleeding at the time of surgery can never be predicted beforehand. With your history of hypertension and stroke, the chances of bleeding are higher as compared to other patients. It is best to go for an open surgery in such case to avoid complications. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Rakhi Tayal , drrakhitayal@gmail.com
