Hit On The Eyebrow, Later Mild Swelling. What Should Be Done?

Hello I hit my eyebrow yesterday.. I left it alone and went on about my day I had a slight head ache but thought nothing of it. I continued on with my day and a little swelling appeared I placed ice on it then went to bed. I woke up and my eye was bigger but the swelling wasnt in the same spot where I hit it.. I'm also in a little pain.. Can you express to me what I should do.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement Dr. K. Naga Ravi Prasad's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM. The swelling around the eye will be due to inflammatory oedema and a possible hematoma (blood clot) formation.
Its always better to consult an opthalmologist and seek his advice than self treating . Hope this helps

Pain Medicine & Palliative Care Specialist Dr. Kerry Pottinger's  Response
Hi,
You have taken the correct measures already. Applying ice will help. Swelling may develop in any part of the surrounding area and bruised tissues may last for a week before they disappear.
Best regards,
