How Can COPD Be Treated While Suffering From Parkinson's Disease?

MY UNCLE WAS JUST DIAGNOISED WITH PARKINGTON'S DIEASE LAST WEEK AND HE IS 76 YRS OLD. HE IS VERY FRAILE, SLOW IN MOVEMENTS AND HE FOUND OUT IN DECEMBER HE HAS COPD ALSO. HE WAS ADMITTED TO THE HOSPITAL TODAY FOR DIFFICULTY BREATHING. THEY ARE NOW TAKING HIM TO A DIFFERENT HOSPITAL BECAUSE HE CAN EAT OR SWALLOW. I'M CONCERNED ON HOW BAD HE IS AND IF HE IS GOING TO MAKE IT. YOUR THOUGHTS?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Both COPD and Parkinson's disease are treatable. It really depends upon how progressed each of these diseases is and how well he responds to treatment.

Regards
