She takes B12 shots every other week and sees her hemotologist regularly to monitor her iron deficiancy, who happens to be on vacation right now. She is athletic, eats good food, sleeps more than she d like, 25 yr old female...help???
A symptom of diarrhoea can cause the abdomen distension.
If the diarrhoea being checked, intestinal obstruction can also cause the abdomen distension.
The underlying cause of distension is a matter of concern and that need to be treated or managed iron and B 12 deficiency could be the cause but it is less common, you can discuss with Doctor for investigations or work up (Abdomen sonography, CT scan, MRI and others).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
