Hi, I have my one and half year (i.e 20 month)doughter, she is not eating properly, she only drink milk or breast feed..sometimes she only eat plain rice or sometimes she didn't eat one single bite of rice, since from last 6 months her weight is not gaining properly, her weight is 8kg from last 6 month, what can i do to increase her weight??pl. Advice me.
First the cause of lack of proper weight gain should be identified. There could be several causes for that. Conditions like anemia etc should be ruled out. This can be done by Hb percentage. Other systemic conditions involving the heart, kidneys, liver etc can cause improper weight gain. I suggest you to consult your doctor for a physical examination. He will order laboratory investigations depending on the physical examination findings. Management depends on the investigation reports. If the cause is identified as nutritional then proper nutritive food rich in calories should be given.
Continue to ask further queries as required. Hope this helps. Take care.
