How Can Diarrhea With Abdominal Pain And Bloody Stools Be Treated?

My wife has been suffering from COLON TB and is on treatment with R CINEX for the last 6 months.Suddenly during the 10 days she diarrhea (10 times motion daily).She is getting pain in adbdomen ? immediately afer taking any type of food including water and is forced to go to motion. Again we went to a gastroentroligist and has been on the following medication for the last 6 days. 1.MOREASE 135 MG -DAILY 3 2.MEASOCOL 400MG -DAILY 3 3.ABOVE5 20MG.-DAILY 1 Yet the motions are not controlled.Only one time she observed blood stains in motion and the stools are watery . Kindly advise,

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

She is having acute colitis due to various reasons. Guidelines include:

- In our clinic, I recommend to add metronidazole as an antibiotic and
lacto bacillus containing probiotic to combat diarrhea faster.
- Plenty of liquids, bland diet.
- Fresh curd in daily intake should be mandatory for intestine flora support.
- Continue rest of the TB medicines.

If diarrhea persists after 48 hours of above, may need hospital treatment in the form of intravenous saline and supportive therapy.
