How Can The Bruise On Foot After An Injury Be Treated?

My leg got sort of smashed (leg was wedged in between a moving piece and stationary piece) in steel deck 2 months ago. I had a 10 bruise on the right side of my calf/shin and a 5 bruise on the left side of my calf/shin. I still have brown/yellow bruise on both sides and it s going on 3 months. Why?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

A bruise is only a skin colour change due to the blood collected under the skin due to injury. It is a reversible change and the color changes return to normal in 2 weeks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Praveen Tayal, Orthopaedic Surgeon
