Myteka (montelukast) is a good medicine and widely tolerated without complications. It is a mast cell stabilizer and prevent the allergy and asthma from developing. It can be taken safely for 2 months or beyond. If the child remains fine, you can stop it and reinitiate it later if the symptoms return. The duration of therapy depends on the severity of the symptoms.

Quick relief with Xyzal (levocetirizine), an antihistamine, can be given without any worries.
