How Long Should Vimpat Be Taken?

i am taking vimpat. do i need to keep taking this? i havent had a sizure in a year. i have read about this medicine. i was taking it one time day then start taking it twice. i think i dont need it. i cannt remember anything. so will you tell me what to do?

Hi,

Vimpat is a brand name of Lacosamide.

Do not stop any epileptic medicines on your own because missed pills can cause seizure attack and which can be fatal. Consult your neurologist and he can gradually taper the dose after assessing your neurological status.
