How Regestrone Affect Pregnancy?

Hi Doc - I am married since 2 years my period cycle is of 32 days last i had period on 28 Dec.. i had intercourse on 9 & 10 jan . doc suggested to take me regestrone 5 mg from 15 day of my cycle 2 times a day for 10 days (i started taking on 11jan). Although m not sure m pregnant. but wanted to know that in case m pregnant regestrone wont impact pregnancy also . how regestron will help me in pregnancy. when will i get my next period & wt will be my ovolution time.

Hi,

I would suggest you to take a pregnancy test before starting Regesterone and avoid using the drug in case of positive pregnancy result. However if you have already taken the drug and found that you are pregnant, do not worry. Regesterone will not cause miscarriage.

Norethisterone is a synthetic female hormone, progesterone. Hence it will not affect your fetus.You can stop the drug and avoid further dose.
