hi, for an elderly patient with mca infarct, the neurophysician has prescribed eptoin -3 a day, it has been long, the patient is 85 yrs. old on bed unable to talk move and express, Is it advisable to discontinue the tablets for few days, or what are the effects of not taking these tablets. Thanks
Eptoin is a prescribed drug because the patient is a Known case of Seizure Disorder or In view of Large Infarct to prevent the occurrence of the seizure activity.
EPTOIN should not be Stopped Suddenly, however, why you want to stop it? Please have a regular review with your Neuro surgeon.
Any Medications that are being taken regularly for long term durations should not be stopped abruptly unless advised by the doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah
