How Serious Could A Bruised Abdomen With Pain After A Fall Be?

My son fell off his bike yesterday at my inlaws and today has been complaining that his lower left abdomen hurts after looking at his side he has a bruise from where it looks like his handle bar hit. Should I take him to his dr could he have punctured anything or is it just a bruise? He is 2 1/2 years old.

Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic,
Simple bruise is not serious, but the child should be kept under doctor's supervision to rule out any internal bleeding due to injury to viscera for 24 hours.
Internal bleeding is dangerous ,sometimes costs life.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose
Please feel free to ask any more queries if required
Take care
