How Should Esophageal Polyps Which Are Clustered Be Treated?

I have recently been diagnosed as having a cluster of approx 30 esophageal polyps. Information on the internet seems to suggest that they are fairly rare, concentrating on giant polyps that are in danger of asphyxiating the sufferer. Would such a large number be removed with some sort of gastroscopic instrument and would such a large number be removed in one operation? Also would there be any follow up treatment afterwards? If you know where I can find any reference material please let me know. Kind regards, Trevor Needham.

Hello,

Consult a gastroenterologist and get evaluated.

You have to get an endoscopy directed biopsy to make a diagnosis.

Further management will depend on biopsy report.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
