How To Approach The Safety For Regular Exercise Routine At A Higher Elevation?

I am 59 years old, moving to 9000 ft. elevation. Ride bike 90 miles per week. I assume I need to take a few weeks to work up to a regular exercize routine at that elevation. How should I approach to safely working up to my regualr exercize routine?

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

Please, work to levels that the body tolerates. When you feel like you cannot carry on for the day, then you must have done enough already. Get rested and continue the following day and progressively you would adapt and be able to go for longer periods and miles at this attitude. The best kept secret is listening and responding to your body, knowing when to stop and catch your breath before continuing.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
