I have a 9 month infant who has developed a vascular appearing rash bil cheeks and symmetrical calf areas more pronounced on the lateral aspects of the calf (almost like like where his upper sock hits), there is no scaling, drying etc and you cant feel anything topical on the skin. He is growing and developing pretty much on schedule. We have r/o allergies to foods.

Thanks for writing to HMC
Most often, it is observed that dermatitis and its various types are the common culprits behind a skin rash.
Allergan such as cheap elastic used in socks may be the culprit in your case.

Avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, refraining from the use of skin care products and socks, and having adequate rest, etc., are some primary measures that one can take.
If problem persists, see a dermatologist.
Hope i helped you.
