From the history your are given, it appears that you are suffering from "Trigeminal Neuralgia" - pain due to malfunction of cranial nerve V. In most cases the causes is unknown. A known common causes the abnormally positioned artery that compresses the trigeminal nerve. Some times this may result from damage by due to herpes zoster.(a viral infection). Rarely it may be due to a compress by a tumor.
In this condition typical analgesics are not usually helpful but certain anticonvulsant drugs such as Carbamazepine may be helpful and reliveing the pain.
