How To Heal Severe Pain In Lower Skull,neck And Shoulders While On Valium,oxycontin And Percocet With History Of Disectomy And Fusion C4?

I have had ACDF C5,6,7, ten years ago. I underwent a disectomy and fusion C4 on January 2,due to lower extremity weakness and bladder incontinence. I have improved tremendously with weakness in legs and bladder issues . also had large bone spur one and 1/2 inch at C5 & 6. Dr. removed it. I have severe pain in lower skull , neck and shoulders to the point I can not stand it. I am on a lot of medications Valium, Oxycontin, percocet with persistent pain is there no relief in site. I don t know if I can live with this constant pain in my life.

Any cervical surgery done for weakness can cause neck pain. This occurs mainly due to incomplete fusion,muscle weakness. i would like you to start physiotherapy of neck. start with neck muscle strengthening exercises. it will need patience as muscle strengthening is slow process. You should wear neck collar during night time so that during sleeping your neck remain in right position.I would like you to start muscle relaxant also to relieve your muscle spasm.
