How To Overcome The Problem Of Having Soft Bowel Movements?
I have been having soft bowel movements for approx one year but it is not diarrhea that makes it difficult to clean myself after going and sometimes their is a small amount of incontinence Should I use a Metamucil type fiber to gain bulk? This is very embarrassing .
Fiber might be helpful. Most common reason of such symptoms is bad diet like low fiber intake, fatty foods, soft drinks. Sometimes some chronic gastrointestinal infection can give such symptoms as well. It is more possible if the symptoms have started after some antibiotics intake, travel or food poisoning. I suggest you to start with diet improvement. If it wont help, stool tests should be done. Please discuss with your doctor Rifaximine treatment. If no infection will be present, colonoscopy is necessary.
Hope this will help. Regards.
